This comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement across the community. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the title's release, to trainers forming strong opinions on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.

With many of the Super Forms showcasing unique designs that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: How can link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly selected for this fire sign, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, known for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. That's why the Ram much more akin to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when angered. Stay on the good side of either and benefit from a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.

Taurus – Super Heracross

Much like a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its regular and Mega form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their position to the end. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many past official descriptions note their craving for sweet tree sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Look at this total queen. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, providing an constant fountain of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite similar to a people-smart Gemini.

The Crab – Mega Manectric

Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate sign famous for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous amount of energy, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to make a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

Leo – Super Starmie

Well, did you assume I was planning to pick Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being too fabulous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Fans were captivated from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the identical vibe a Lion brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be putting on a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Mega Victreebel

The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is strongly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo sends to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a plan.

Libra – Super Audino

Observe this gentle, sensitive creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how people are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them worry even more about others.

Scorpio – Super Banette

Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained sentient through sheer resentment and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and retribution, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.

The Archer – Super Hawlucha

Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. As a Archer personally, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly little entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can imagine.

The Goat – Super Absol

Did you know that a Mega Absol has the ability to foresee calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who tends to always think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Super Absol, they frequently are.
