It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

Finally, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her latest masterpiece.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it was a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was dismissed her side required another 66 at one run per ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last competing nations at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated through the pain.

However although she later admitted those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
