Viktor Gyokeres moved to the Gunners from Sporting this summer

Gunners forward the Swedish attacker was left out in the new manager's first Swedish national squad, while Liverpool striker Alexander Isak received a place

Gyokeres is due for further assessments this week amid worries he suffered a hamstring injury during the Gunners's English top flight victory against the Clarets last weekend

The 27-year-old sat out Arsenal' European win against the Czech side earlier this week

Alexander Isak Returns

The Liverpool striker, who hasn't featured since 22 October owing to muscle issues, made the squad to play in World Cup qualifying matches against the Swiss team (November 15th) and the Slovenian side (November 18th)

Other England-based Selections

  • Tottenham midfielder the young talent, working his way back after a head knock
  • Newcastle winger the Swedish international

Both athletes were included in the England-based contingent named under former multiple English clubs coach Graham Potter

The New Manager's Appointment

The English manager took over the Swedish federation originally for an interim period in late October, less than a month after leaving by West Ham

Previous boss Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired following the national team's defeat against Kosovo on 13 October, an outcome which rendered automatic qualification from Group B impossible

Present Situation

The Swedish team find themselves last place of Group B with just a single point in their opening four games

Should they don't manage to finish second, they may yet participate in the secondary qualification as a result thanks to their showing in the most recent Nations League
