Liverpool's Star Extends Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the uproar from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and suggesting his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also implied that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and securing victories.”
