Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
