Fresh Particulars Come to Light About the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

Recent details have emerged about the untimely passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report referencing a confidential source, a therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the house. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the house, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Afterward, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

The source also refuted widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the preceding period. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation includes reports of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a event thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Timeline

Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
