Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Participate in Members of Parliament's Inquiry Following Allegations of Partiality in Unauthorized Memorandum
We begin with questions from Tory Member of Parliament the panel's head, who oversees the committee.
She initiates by giving details to the disclosed memorandum prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.
"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation leaning this way or that way, My only wish is for it balanced, unbiased and fair," he declares.
When asked if he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, Prescott answers: "No, I do not. Let's be clear, a great deal the BBC creates is top-tier - including documentary and non-factual content."
But he adds: "There is real work that requires attention at the BBC."
Another ex-adviser BBC adviser questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the BBC with great importance and that it operates a "persistent practice and lively discussion" on dynamic and complex issues.
"Did the BBC willing to conduct a proper dialogue and debate and implement changes?" she questions. "As I see it, indeed, they were."
